Venturing Crew 148

Crew 148 is a climbing focused Venturing Crew that formed in early 2024.

We meet in the Scout Hut at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church located at 11400 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte NC 28262 on the first Thursday of each month, and at Inner Peaks South End on the third Thursday of each month.

Venturing? What's that?

Venturing is the youth-led, youth inspired, coed program of Boy Scouts of America for those who are 14-20 years old.

Our mission is to prepare every eligible youth in our unit to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Venturing Oath and Scout Law. 

It might happen while paddling a quiet lake, bonding with new friends around a beach bonfire, or rising to the challenge of leading an exhausted crew to the edges of adventure. Venturing empowers you to create your own experiences while bringing Scouting values to life through high adventure outdoor activities and challenging real-world projects. 

Already a Scout?

Great! Venturing offers a complementary experience for those in a Scouts BSA Troop. Registered Scouts do not need to pay to register with the Crew and can wear their Scout rank badges on their Crew uniforms. Serving as an elected Crew officer can be used to meet leadership requirements for Star, Life, and Eagle ranks. Crew members may also earn those ranks through the Crew rather than through a Scouts BSA troop.
